












Leaving the big smoke of Tokyo behind, we headed inland to Fuefuki, Yamanashi, where we stayed in a traditional Airbnb. The owner was incredibly welcoming and recommended a charming little izakaya just down the road. There, we drank sake and sampled all kinds of weird and wonderful foods. When we returned, we made friends with some university students from Tokyo who were enjoying a weekend getaway. They taught us Japanese drinking games, and we spent the evening laughing and connecting over shared experiences.
